PORTLAND, OR (June 2006) Newsletter Associates Creative Director, Barbara Saunders, received a Chapter Service Award for outstanding performance and lasting contributions to the Oregon/Columbia Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Since 2004, Newsletter Associates has been creating the chapter newsletter - Bridges - with Editor Sue Brundege. The newsletter has grown from a small 4-page information sheet to a full-blown 12-page organization newsletter. Its regular columns include member spotlights to keep up-to-date on recent developments; a member bio to help get to know each other better; and Communicator's Tip for members to share their expertise. There are also frequent photo spreads on events and conferences; nonprofit activities that members participate in; and interview and FAQ sections.

The main mission of the newsletter was to create a sense of community within this vital trade organization. This award signifiys that we're well on the way.
